

Mary Alice Steinheimer, 85 of Atlanta died March 15, 2014. The daughter of Chester Stringfellow and Myrtice Odom, she was born April 26, 1928 and raised in Forest Home, AL. She was valedictorian at Greenville High School and then moved to Montgomery, AL. She married Frank Steinheimer June 25, 1949 in Atlanta. In the 1960s & 70s, she owned and operated two fabric stores in the Atlanta area (Northside Fabrics, Southside Fabrics). She completed her BA degree at Georgia State University in 1987 and MA in Philosphy in 1995, afterward teaching Latin at Sequoia High School for 5 years. She was a delightful person, adored by all who knew her, and will remain dearly loved in the hearts of all of those whose lives she touched. Mrs. Steinheimer was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Steinheimer and is survived by her son, John Steinheimer (Janet); daughter, Kathy Steinheimer (Bruce Means); grandchildren, Jamie Steinheimer, Jennifer Meredith, Harley Means, Ryan Means; great grandchildren, Cameron Means, Chandler Means, Skyla Means; and brother, Charlie Stringfellow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Temple or Halcyon Hospice. Graveside services will be Monday, March 17, 2014 at 1 o’clock at Westview Cemetery with Rabbi Peter Berg officiating.
