I love you Mary.  I thank God we were united again before you left us.  Thinking of you today on All Souls Day of course you earned your wings on this blessed day.  Forever in my heart Mary.

Mary you passed away on All Souls Day typical of you to know just the right time to meet our Lord.  We were part of a unique time in Atlanta when women began to take their place at the top of the charts in TV news.  You came into the 11 Alive Newsroom and sat next next to me and it was as if the sky opened and an angel entered my life.  You cheered me on and I cheered you.  When I became pregnant with my first child Yuri you were at my side at my baby shower and when we moved to San Francisco I waited until I could fly back to Atlanta so you could be there at our son Yuri’s baptism.  You picked me up at the airport and held my second child baby Jessica while Yuri was baptized by Father Peacock at Saint Mary’s Church.  Of course the church had to be Saint Mary’s.  And since we worked for NBC the priest had to be Father Peacock.  I saw you in Atlanta when I visited from LA the last two years before you went to heaven.  So grateful I could see you again after so many years and you could meet my daughter Anna and my grandson Beau Lyle as we were welcomed by you and your loving husband. Dear Dennis;

Sharon and I both are so deeply sorry for the passing of Mary last November.  We were all broadcasters together during incredibly amazing years.  I met Mary through Sharon when I was an NBC correspondent in Atlanta.  I found her to be as beautiful in person as she was on her newscasts during our Atlanta years.

You were so kind when we came to visit helping us through the grief of learning about her ALS.  Seeing her again after so many years on the other side of the country was a joy.  

God bless you.  You are in our prayers.  We hope we can see you again when we visit Atlanta.

Dear Dennis;

I’m just learning of Mary’s death online. I’m so moved by  her life and so grateful you were with her through her illness.  I saw her in January of 2020 when I went to see Anna Tyler and Beau in Atlanta.  When I flew back to LA the terrible pandemic took hold and I didn’t see her again or make it back to Atlanta even when all of my family there fought Covid.  Fortunately they all survived the terrible virus and many many prayers went up for them and always for my Mary.  She was a great friend someone I know God sent to be with me on this journey. 

I hope you’re well and hope we can see you when we come back to visit Atlanta.  2021 remains a challenge as you know we just hope for better days ahead for everyone. 

Prayers for you Dennis in your loss of Mary.  She said she had a typewriter of mine from WXIA she wanted me to have if you run across such a small thing let me know.  Love Sharon and Bob Jimenez Los Angeles 

Dennis, So sorry to hear that Mary moved from earth to heaven.  She was such an inspiration to so many and left a Big legacy here on earth. She was beautiful inside and out. I know you will greatly miss her, but  their is one named Jesus that can give you rest and peace. Knowing that Mary will Rest In Peace for eternity.

I worked for Mary as Group Sales Manager at  the Margaret Mitchell House for three years, following its opening in 1997. Closer to her age than most of her staff, we became friends as well.  I always felt that she trusted my judgment with important decisions concerning the house and the direction in which it should go. I still have the last email she sent me some years ago. I admired her very much, and without knowing, she gave my own life direction. My sincere sympathies to her family and friends. I will always remember the grace and fortitude with which she lived her life.
