Matt was a graduate of the 1999 Class of Dunwoody High School and from Clemson University in 2002 with a B.S. in Accounting. Matt was a member of both the Dunwoody and Clemson football teams. He was a passionate, lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Matt was a CPA, CFP, and was awarded the CFA Charterholder designation from the CFA Institute. He co-founded his business, Meridian Investments. Matt was a loving and dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, gardening, and taking an active role in his kid’s sports. He grew incredible peaches and pears that he proudly shared with his family and friends. Matt’s legacy will live on through the trust he built, the love he shared, and the memories he created with those closest to him.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Xiuhua Gu (Yuca) Fassnacht; daughter, Jacqueline (Jackie) Barbara Fassnacht; mother, Susan A. Avalone; brother, Andrew Moler; sisters, Christina Lee, Grace O’Shea, and Rachel Moler.
A “Celebration of Life & Memorial Service” will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 1:00, at the Dunwoody Nature Center, 5343 Roberts Drive, Dunwoody, GA. All that loved Matt, and the Fassnacht Family, are welcome to come.
