Maurice “Bobby” Burdett Womack, Jr., was born on September 2, 1939, in Sandy Springs, GA, and passed June 26, 2025, at the age of 85. He is preceded in death by his parents, Katherine Moore Womack, and Maurice Burdett Womack, Sr., brothers Larry Eugene Womack, Ronald Clyde Womack, his grandparents Tilly Ebenezer Womack, Ora Burdett Womack, and Clyde and Maud Moore.
He graduated from North Fulton High School. He attended Georgia State University and then University of Georgia where he was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity. After college he worked for his Father in the family business of Womack Electric Company and Sandy Springs Electric. He formed and became CEO of MBW Development focusing on subdivisions, condos, and commercial projects and was part of many LLC’s. He was also a stockholder of Sandy Springs Plaza, Inc and The Station at Vinings. He was a Member of Buckhead Rotary.
“Bobby” had such a zest for life and all aspects of business. He was always genuine and very kind. He loved all his family and throughout his life he loved spending time with all his dear friends in Miramar Beach, FL and Cashiers, NC. He simply cherished being with people, sharing stories and spending time with others. If you were lucky enough to hear one of his wonderful laughs it made your day!
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Bailey Womack, daughter Lane Womack. From a previous marriage there are two sons: Dr. Michael Shay Womack (Stacy), Michael Shay Womack, Jr., Dory Womack (Phillip) Beard, Gracie Lynn Womack, and a Great Grandchild Joanie Mack Beard; Bryan Mitchell Womack is the father of Katherine Joan Womack and Barbara Joan Womack. Their mother is daughter-in-law Nancy W. Womack (Eric Glick). “Bobby’s” younger brother John Wayne (Fay) Womack, sister-in-law (Lydia). His sister-in-laws were very special as well as his brother-in-law, Carroll Cook, also many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00am at The Church of The Apostles 3585 Northside Pkwy, NW Atlanta, GA 30327. Visitation and a Reception will be held immediately after the service. A private burial will be held for the family.
