Olivia Mechlowitz

Olivia Elinor Mechlowitz, 77 years old, died August 4, 2014, surrounded by her children. Graveside services will be held, Saturday August 9, 2014, at Arlington Memorial Park, in Sandy Springs, GA, at 2:00pm. Olivia was born on June 23, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, to William Norton and Elinor Pinkerton Johnson. She graduated from Penn State University where she met her late husband, Miksa Mechlowitz. They spent most of their years in Warrington, PA. They moved to Atlanta, GA, in 2001 to be closer to family. Olivia spent summers in Twilight Park in the Catskill Mountains. It was her favorite place and always hard for her to leave when the summers were over. In addition to rearing four children, she was an avid tennis player, loved to swim, read, play bridge and go to the movies. Olivia is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Bob Laurilliard; her children, Dean, Robin, Mark and Fern; and her grandchildren, Alec, Karah, Jessica, Matthew, Kalevi, Daniel, Nate, Abie, and Henry.
