Pat has been my dearest friend for the last 72 yrs.  I was a new student entering the 6th grade at St. Gabriel School in Detroit.  I felt awkward, shy and uncomfortable and Pat instantly took me under her wing.  The new school was totally different than where I came from, but Pat made me feel so comfortable that we became great friends. My home was on the way to and from her house and many times we would meet different times to go for long walks sometimes with a few other girls, laughing and singing. We were both cheerleaders at St. Gabriel High School. One day I asked her if I can wear the exact same dress in a different color that she was going to wear to the first dance the Freshmen were invited to. She said "yes, of course you can". Her dress was aqua and mine was red. I borrowed mine from my sister. I never forgot that; Pat was always kind to me. Life took us in different directions, but we always kept in touch through the years. She came to my wedding and I went to hers. I asked her if I can name my daughter Michele with one "L" like her daughter and she said "sure, go ahead".  Pat has been my support when my family members passed away especially my beloved son, Gerard. Pat prayed and  prayed for him and gave me counseling and advice that I will never forget.

Thank you for the beautiful memories we’ve shared over the years. Your mother was truly amazing, and thinking back on our long relationship brings warmth to our hearts and a smile to our faces. We feel blessed to have known her and to have been part of your lives. Please know that we are here for you, and you are in our thoughts during this difficult time.

The Lord blessed me with the special time to receive her blessing and to be with her before she went home to be with the Lord. Father, give me the wisdom to discern between what`s loss and what`s lost. Help me to trust Your process even when the chair is empty. Like the father of the prodigal son, let me maintain hope for what appears lost, knowing your the God Who specializes in finding and I`m so grateful for the kindness and mercy given to my sister, Amen.
