Dear Spencer, Libba and Mern, 
I learned today, for the first time, of Paul's death. Don't know how I missed it back in October but that happened and I apologize for having been remiss in keeping up with good friends. I am so sorry that it has been such a long time since I saw Paul but I usually saw him on medical visits where he would put me in that booth and let me listen to all those beeps and squeaks after which he would, always, with that nice smile, say the same thing, "You can't hear worth a damn." Believe it or not I was just about on my way to see Paul and have him prescribe that hearing aid he had been advising me to get for a long time. Too bad I waited. I remember Paul with great fondness and am very sorry that he is gone. I watched the video and understood quickly what a full, happy and useful life he lived. I don't think it gets much better than that. Paul's family will miss him sorely and I will miss not having him available to tell me the obvious when it skips my mind which is that "you can't hear." I was a classmate at Westminster with Paul and I don't ever remember not seeing him with a smile.  He had such a kind, thoughtful presence.  Treasure your memories.

Paul was a High School buddy along with Phin Calhoun, maybe George Wiley would share joys and challenges of growing up. Recall bumping heads in football practice with he and brother spencer, visits to their family home on Howell Mill & Peachtree Battle ave near the creek, where we visited frogs and salamanders with muddy feet and enthusiasm.  Was Judson Simmons with us on those romps in creek---Jud lived up on West Wesly and was in a school ride to Westy on West Wesly, and may have played a boyhood trick or 2 on young Paul...Woopie Cushion, was it?
Bill Stembler -- and now past older bro John Stembler would have some of us over night and before bedtime get in a good natured friendly? bb gun battle---had to have your leather jacket & glasses on--to re-enact some smaller scermish of civil war---Sherman's advance held back by us 12 year old rebel soldiers with pop airguns and green rat caps on backwards as infantrymen of 100 years before....
Alas Paul --- we will miss you, but great to know you and family of growing up in 1960s.

Paul was a great cousin.  He left us with lots of lasting memories and laughs.  Love to All,

Dear Atwater Family:
My deepest sympathy to you in the loss of Dr. Atwater.  He was an excellent physician and I have very fond memories of working with him for many years at Piedmont Hospital.  May God bless each one of you and grant you peace.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

We remember Paul well as a neighbor and friend.  We are so sorry for your loss.  Please know that we are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Heaven has gained another angel. Dr. Atwater was a very sweet and gentle person. He will truly be missed.
