On his seventy-ninth birthday, Phillip Siegel passed peacefully at his home in Atlanta, GA. Born in the Bronx, he grew up in Great Neck, NY, and lived his final years in Atlanta. Adored husband of Susan (nee Libby); loving father to Lisa (Jeff), Jennifer and Sam; devoted Papa to Samara and Jack Chasin as well as Natalie and Jessica Katz.
Phil was a loyal friend to many and valued his relationships above all else. He loved Judaism and felt strongly about human rights and equality. He was an incredibly kind, fair, and risk-averse person, astute in his judgement and honorable with an iron-clad ethical compass. His career was something in which he took great pride. Following fourteen years at Reuters, ending as General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer for the Americas, he pivoted to investment banking, which he also very much enjoyed.
He was the son of Cantor Benjamin Siegel of Temple Israel in Great Neck, NY, and Helen Siegel, former docent at the Natural History Museum in NYC; and brother of Rita and David.
