OBITUARY

Phu-Long Van Pham

July 27, 1981March 18, 2020

Our beloved Phu-Long was born in Pleiku, Vietnam on July 27, 1981. He emigrated to the US with his parents and three siblings in April 1991, landing in Atlanta, which remained his home for his entire life. He had great childhood memories growing up in Dunwoody. He studied hard in school and loved to explore nature for leisure. Long graduated 2nd in his entire grade from Dunwoody High School in 1999, and joined his siblings at Emory University. After college, Long devoted nearly all his time working tirelessly in our family nail salon business. He was a great businessman who treated employees like his own family.

We have lost Long, who was truly one of a kind. He brought laughter and light into every room he entered. Long exuded kindness everywhere he went. He was the biggest advocate for the underdog. He identified and empathized with the downtrodden. He sacrificed to improve the lives of everyone around him. Once Long’s heart was set on something, he passionately pursued it to the end. Long challenged us to do better and do more. He was amazingly perceptive and had a talent for identifying the unique nature of every person he met. Thank you for loving us so well and working hard to make sure our family reaches highest stars. Long, you are our shining star! You are deeply loved and will be missed immeasurably.

I am a Top Nails client, and from day one Phu-Long was always very nice and thoughtful. He had a friendly smile, and made sure we were taken care of. I was so sad to hear of his passing. His family and friends are in my prayers.

I think I was one of the first customers at the Salon when Long was a teenager. I had my daughters 4th birthday party there back in the 90's. I have known this family for over 20 years and my heart is just broken. I am known as "Jennifer Mom" to all of them. Donna my heart breaks for you and your family. I know that you are a believer in Jesus and know that your heart will be healed through Him and that you will need to lean on our precious Lord to get you through the days ahead. Long was such a free spirit and the Salon will not be the same without him. He was just joking with Jennifer on Monday about selling the water he had gotten from Costco. That was just a little bit of his funny sense of humor. That smile will never be forgotten. Rest easy Long. You were taken from us much too soon. We will forever be grateful for your presence in our lives.

I am Phu-Long’s oldest sister. I miss my brother Phu-Long so much. He is truly a wonderful person. I pray that God gives me sufficient grace and comfort to move on without him on this earth. I know he is in a better place now and I will see him again. I’ll hold on to the wonderful memories we had together in the past 38 years. He will forever live in my heart! I love you brother!

I was in the salon today and learned of Long’s passing which broke the hearts of my sister and I. He was such a kind, sweet and generous man who will never be forgotten! I can go on and on based on our interactions over the years but my heart is shattered. I know he is in heaven and will keep his family friend and loved ones in my prayers.

Your loved one was a wonderful person, He visited my home the day before his terrible accident. He brought me two beautiful plants to honor his first visit to my home. We talked as Tara did my nails. He had such a gentle and respectful way about him. I shall miss him, and I'm so sorry for tour loss.

Phu Long and I went to Dunwoody High School together. He was always so kind and thoughtful. I honestly don’t remember a time when he didn’t have a smile on his face. This is such tragic news and I am so sorry for his family’s loss. May his memory always be a blessing.
