Rauf was such a kind, affectionate, and loving man who loved his family and friends so much.  He was such a good man. He really adored his children and went to see them everyday. Miss him so much.

I just heard about Rauf.  I am gutted.  I can certainly echo that he was one of a kind and would do anything for anyone.  I am so sorry I missed his service.

I played against Rauf for years in high school and he was such a great competitor - so much so that I was surprised to learn how warm, friendly and outgoing he was as a person. We would see each other from time to time out in Atlanta and, when we did, we would stop and talk about baseball, catch up on each other’s careers, and remember high school rivalry games. I enjoyed it so much every time we got to hang out and I knew he enjoyed it, too. He was always so positive, generously putting his energy into making sure I knew that he appreciated the time we got to spend together. I always walked away from spending time with Rauf feeling great. I’m so sad to know we won’t run into each other again. God bless you, Rauf, and your family.  I’m grateful for the time we had together on the field and off.

Rauf was such a bright light.  He always had time to talk to everyone and he was genuinely interested in everyone that crossed his path.  I'll always remember this beautiful  young man.  And,. I count myself lucky to have known him.  That smile of his was like a light.

The sweetest cousin. Rauf had the biggest heart. I will cherish the memories forever. 

I met Rauf in Springfield when he played for the Capitals. I was a booster on the club and a minority owner.  I would often go out with him and the other players after the games.  Rauf was always one of the most joyful, enthusiastic and friendly players.  

Dear Ann, Tijen and the family of Rauf, 
At this time of your grief, our hearts and prayers are with you. Your son, brother and husband was one of our children and we are in mourning with you. It is a tremendous loss and we pray that he receives god’s eternal light and god’s grace upon the survivors of his family. Handan and I are out of town and we will not be there by your side but we are with all of you in spirit and prayer. Acar Nazli on behalf of the Nazli. family. 

Raufie, our nephew had a heart of gold.  He truly loved people.  His love was sincere.  I will so miss every time I saw Raufie in person, he would say, "Aunt Dianne, I love you!"  He meant it from the bottom of his heart.  He made you feel loved and so important to him.  I would walk in the clouds the rest of the day and everytime I remember him saying that to me.
He loved his mom, and her  love for him was the closet you get to our Heavenly Father's love,   and Tijen, Tripp, nephews and niece,  his children, family, aunt uncles, cousins, friends.  Raufie and his warmth and love will be truly missed.
But thankfully, so thankfully, we will all see him again in heaven.  That is a promise of God's.  And God is all  Truth!

Rauf was a dear friend and a gentleman. He was always so respectful,  kind and affectionate to me. I loved him very much. He was a wonderful father and so very proud of his two children. He posted several pictures of them on Facebook.

When I started babysitting for Rauf, he would get upset and say he didn’t like me. My dad told me to say that I was sorry he didn’t like me because I loved him. Boy did that work! He loved me and I loved him. He was a wonderful guy with a great big heart. I will miss him so much, but I know I will see him again one day.

Annie Faye and Tijen - my heart is heavy by our loss of Rauf. Words don't seem adequate to express how Rauf's big hug, infectious laugh, a peck on the cheek, or just his presence could make anyone feel his love. He loved unconditionally and that is what I will always treasure. My fondest memory of Rauf's love is over 30 years old. Our parents had gone out to dinner, leaving Tijen and me with a babysitter. Rauf was too cool and maybe too old for a babysitter so he could hang out next door. That night, Tijen and I hid underneath the dining room table with Pierre until Rauf came to our rescue and snuck us out of the house. Such a Raufie move and such a small act of love. But it has stuck with me all these years - Rauf's willingness to be a knight in shining armor for his little sister and little cousin.  Love always - Wendy

He was my beloved Cousin. A very sweet person with a heart of gold. He sat by me with his arm around me at my 15 year old daughters funeral While I cried almost six years ago. I loved him so very  much always will.
