Raymundo (Ray) Lung, age 62, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his home on the evening of Thursday, June 17, 2022. He was born in Lima, Peru on August 19, 1960. He attended grade school in Peru at Colegio Maria Reina Marianistas, before moving to Valencia, Venezuela for high school. He treasured memories of his childhood and the fluency of the Spanish language and beauty of the cultures that it gave him. He moved to the United States to attend university at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta where he studied electrical engineering. He then went on to get his Master’s in Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech. Ray had an illustrious career, serving as Vice President of Sales for multiple technology companies. Throughout his life, Ray was a devout Catholic. He even met his wife, Monique Topper through Atlanta Catholic singles activities. She led the Catholic singles group at Christ the King while he was a member of the one at St. Jude’s. Monique and Ray were married on August 26, 1995, at the Basilica of Sacred Heart of Jesus. Five years later, they had a beautiful baby girl, Sophie. In his leisure time, Ray liked discussing politics, connecting with friends, and of course, doting on his daughter. He also enjoyed serving as a soccer coach for several youth teams at Holy Spirit Preparatory School and Our Lady of the Assumption and the neighborhood YMCA. Ray was a loving husband, devoted father, a caring brother and son, and a thoughtful friend. Ray is survived by his wife Monique, his daughter Sophie, his sister Karina, and his parents Ray and Aurora. He is preceded in death by his brother Harry.
The Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church in Brookhaven, Georgia, at 1:00 pm on June 27, 2022.
