Riley “Pete” Dlearo passed away peacefully after an extended illness with his daughter by his side on August 5, 2022 at 6:10 p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 27, 2022 at H.M. Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, Georgia. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home and then a memorial service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held by the Clark Funeral Home, Hawkinsville, Georgia at the Orange Hill Cemetery.
Pete was born in Pulaski County to Joseph Dlearo and Bessie Vaughn Dlearo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Delores Dlearo Jones, as well as her sons Donnie and Jerry Jones. He is survived by his son, Joe Dlearo, his daughter, Christie Dlearo, nephew Danny Jones, and Many loving cousins and friends. Pete graduated from Hawkinsville High School, Hawkinsville, Georgia in 1953 and attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega, Georgia. He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and then worked for General Dynamics Aeronautics in California. Pete was a restaurateur for the next 40 years (Howard Johnson’s, Holiday Inn and owner of Dlearo’s Restaurant, Riley’s Seafood and Prime Rib and Pistol Pete’s BBQ restaurant). After retirement, he worked part-time for H.M. Patterson and Son Funeral Home.
