Robert Henderson Rimmer, IV, (Bobby) of Atlanta, GA passed away peacefully on March 9, 2018, at Hospice Atlanta after a brave fight against Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Bobby was born in Washington, DC on September 27, 1967. He is predeceased by his father Robert Henderson Rimmer, III. He is survived by his wife Kimberly Booth Rimmer, their daughter Morgan Elaine Rimmer, his mother-in-law Linda Booth, his mother Ann Tranfa and her husband Frank Tranfa, his sister Sherrie Aubert and her husband Ed Aubert and their three daughters. He was also dearly loved and survived by family in Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, Maryland, and Florida. He grew up in Charlottesville, VA and graduated from Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA. He went on to graduate with a B.S. from Washington and Lee University in 1990 where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and a player on both the baseball and football teams for all four years. After working in Washington, DC, for several years in accounting and telecommunications, he was transferred to Atlanta where he worked as a Director of Finance for First Data. The family was members of the Piedmont Driving Club. Bobby and Kimberly married in April of 1995 and were blessed with their daughter Morgan in June of 1998. A lover of all athletics, Bobby volunteered at many of Morgan’s Westminster Schools’ athletic events – being the cook at crew regattas or timing at most every home swim meet. He also loved the summer swimming league, and he volunteered at every meet for the 10 years Morgan swam with the PDC Seahorses. Having grown up in Charlottesville, he was an avid fan of all University of Virginia athletic teams. Morgan attends Vanderbilt University, so he became a growing fan of all Commodore athletics, as well. The more teams to follow, the better. A memorial service will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 3098 St. Anne’s Ln, NW, Atlanta, GA 30327. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to: the Andrew and Eula Carlos Hospice Atlanta Center, 1244 Park Vista Drive, NE, Atlanta, GA 30319 or The Blood and Marrow Transplant Group of Georgia C/O Northside Hospital Foundation/BMT, Attn: Monica Murdock, 5670 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Suite 1000, Atlanta, GA 30342.
