

Ron graduated from St. Louis University in 1957 with a double major in Chemistry and Philosophy. While at SLU, he was a member of the swim and tennis teams. He later earned a graduate degree in Statistics in 1961 and an MBA from Georgia State University.
During his time at St. Louis University, Ron met the love of his life, Mary Lou Krug. They married in St. Louis in February 1962 and recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
In 1969, Ron and Mary Lou moved to Dunwoody, Georgia, where they built their family home, raised their four sons, and became devoted parishioners of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. Ron remained an active member of the parish for the rest of his life, serving as an usher for many years. All four sons attended St. Jude and Marist.
Ron began his career in aerospace at General Dynamics before transitioning to the banking and finance industry. He spent 12 years at Bank of America and later ran his own consulting company for another 12 years.
Beyond his professional life, Ron was deeply involved in his sons’ activities. He coached their baseball teams, served as a board member at Murphy Candler Park, and instilled in them a love for the outdoors. He was an avid skier and dedicated 25 years to volunteering with the National Ski Patrol, including serving as Avalanche Director for the Southeast Region. He also enjoyed sailing his boat on Lake Lanier and flying his airplane from Peachtree Dekalb Airport.
In retirement, Ron and Mary Lou enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time at their log cabin in Silverthorne, Colorado.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou, and their four sons: Michael (Jen), Peter (Jeannae), Robert (Shawn), and Jonathan (Amanda), as well as their nine cherished grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivern Paul Geist and Juliette Deiss Geist.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Ron's life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 7171 Glenridge Drive, Sandy Springs, Georgia. A reception will follow immediately after the service.
Arrangements are entrusted to H.M. Patterson & Son - Arlington Chapel in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
