He was a devoted husband during Norma’s long struggle with Alzheimer’s and is remembered for his unending patience and care. His positive spirit in his late 90’s turned him into a minor folk hero and role model for friends in their 70s and 80s. Sy always rooted for the underdog and cared about the poor. For 32 years he was a supporter of the National Committee to Protect Social Security and Medicare and was able to see his beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series last fall.
