He was a graduate of Riverwood High School in Sandy Springs, Georgia, and the University of South Carolina. An avid outdoorsman, Steele traveled extensively on hunting and fishing expeditions. He was the owner of Everything Outdoors, one of the Atlanta area’s premier retaining wall and paving contractors.
He leaves behind his two daughters Mackenzie and Alexandra, granddaughter Ruthie Ann and son in law Ben Willsey. He is also survived by his former wife Ann, mother Libby, his sister Elizabeth, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a great many close friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Alex Hawkins.
A Celebration of Steele’s life will be held August 22, 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at H.M. Patterson & Son - Arlington Chapel Funeral Home, 173 Allen Rd. NE, Sandy Springs Georgia.
