I  shall always remember Susan  as she was when she was not in so much pain! What an amazing place she has gone to,  holding hands with her beloved Charles!

"Ms. Harris" (as I knew her ) was my 8th grade English teacher at East Cobb Middle School in 1983. She was, and still is, the best teacher I ever had. Ms. Harris was a huge positive influence in my life and I still value the important life lessons she taught me. We kept in touch for many, many years but had lost touch over the past few years. I was so sad to hear if her passing this morning! My deepest condolences to her family. The world lost a truly amazing, smart, funny, kind, dear teacher. I will never forget her and I am a better person because of her! Love to you Ms. Harris- you were one of a kind.

She had a caring personality and will be greatly missed. I am greatfull to have known such a wonderfull woman. You will be missed!

Susan taught our daughter Elizabeth at East Cobb Middle School in the early 90's.  Elizabeth liked her so much and I got to know her through Elizabeth and also through PTSA.  She was a great teacher and just a very nice lady.  We had seen each other occasionally through the years and she was always interested in Elizabeth and what she was doing. I have known Susan since 1997 and worked together at East Cobb and Cooper Middle.  She is the most thoughtful friend I have ever known.  She never missed a birthday, sending a sweet card to all who knew her.  Susan was a talented, caring, and wonderful teacher, as well as a dear friend.  My thoughts and prayers go to her family. Such a huge loss for everyone that knew Susan.  I enjoyed the years we worked together and remember her as a sweet, caring lady.  She will be missed so much!

Susan was an amazing teacher! We all loved and respected her at East Cobb Middle School.  Her former students always talk about how much they learned in her classes.  And Mr. Harris was one of the very best substitute teachers we ever had.

Although I only knew Susan for the last 10 years, Susan became a lifelong friend. Susan was the most friendly, kind and thoughtful person.
On one of the many occasions I was visiting with Susan, I took my 4 year old son (Jack) with me. Susan would always sit Jack down at her kitchen table and give him his usual plastic cup (She bought especially for Jack!) of apple juice and they would chat about school and what was going on in each others day to day life's.
Susan, we will miss you dearly, but the memories will remain.

Rest sweetly and tell Charles hello!

The world was a better place when Susan walked among us.  Would that all of us could be as organized and focused as she was!  Susan was a strong teacher who expected the best from her students.  She gave HER best everyday in the classroom and worked to make her ECMS students match that effort.

Susan was the most thoughtful person I have ever known,  She never missed a birthday--not only mine but also my husband's and children's--or an anniversary!  Although she was sick, she would always ask what she could do for me and my family.  She was a strict teacher, but I saw many former students return to say that they had learned so much from her. Since my retirement, we have been able to enjoy lunches,dinners, movies and shows together.  In fact, we had plans to see "White Christmas"  at the Strand on the 16th.  She asked me to purchase the tickets months ago because she was afraid they would sell out.  Since her death, I didn't know if I could face going to see it. Though it will be a bittersweet outing, I feel it will be one last memory of my friendship with Susan.  Rest in peace my sweet Susan.

Our deepest condolences to Susan's family.  Susan was a very special lady and friend.  Joe visited with Susan just last week.  She had more strength and determination than I have ever witnessed.  We will greatly miss her.

She showed such incredible strength during these past few years.  I had so much respect and admiration for her.  I will never forget her.
