Bill was born in Camden, New Jersey on November 14, 1937 to William and Dorothy Bush and was raised in Coral Gables, Florida. He was the last of three children - leaving behind his sisters, Barbara Beyers(Bill was preceded in death by his brother in law, Bob) and Gail (Bill was preceded in death by his brother in law, Dewey)Riddle. Bill was an excellent student at Coral Gables High School and received a music scholarship from the University of Miami. While there, he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity, ROTC, the marching band, the football practice squad, and graduated with a degree in Music.
Bill then went to work for John Hancock Insurance Company and settled in Atlanta, Georgia. After a successful career there, he and his former wife, Brenda Marlow opened Golden Scissors Salon in Doraville, Georgia in 1971. Other successful locations followed and flourished into the late 2010s after he retired. He was very fond of his many years as a member of Dunwoody Baptist Church where he especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School to middle school aged young men.
Beyond his beloved sisters, Bill leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon and his four children - Christine (son in law, Peter), Bill Jr., Michael(daughter in law, Cindy)and Andrew(daughter in law, Andrea), and Sharon’s four children - Christine, Dennis, Heather, and Kelly( son in law, Billy). Bill is also survived by eight grandchildren - Katie(her husband, Nico), Joye, Logan, Samantha, Jaylen, Abby, Justin, and Avery as well as Sharon’s grandchildren - Dylan and Amber. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews - Barbara, Robert, Angelique, Ann Marie, Deny, Dawn, Dewey, William,and he was preceded in death by his niece, Bonnie.
The celebration of life for Bill Bush will be held at 2:00 pm Monday December 19, 2022 at Sunrise Chapel Arlington Memorial Park - 201 Mount Vernon Hwy Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
