William Clarke Easterly was born in Rochester, NY on January 22, 1945. He was the oldest of three children, and leaves behind his beloved siblings; Pete Easterly and Donna Easterly Shattuck. On February 9, 2019 he received an honorable discharge from his battle against Sarcoma. "Bill" was adored by many and leaves behind a legacy of love for his wife of 27 years, Connie S. Easterly, who remained by his side with a steadfast and devoted heart made just for him. They spent the last few years together enjoying the freedom of retirement, traveling the world and checking off bucket list adventures together.
In between get away trips and time with their many friends, Bill enjoyed spending time with his four children, twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. His children Alisa Forester Kayler and her husband, Brian, Debra Easterly Bembenek, Janeane Easterly Ungaro, and Douglas William Easterly and his wife, Kipling will always remember their dad with a smile, and maybe even a laugh or two. His bushel of grand kids included: Avery Easterly Ungaro, Ajay, Chance and Cruise Ungaro, Jadon Bembenek Phillips, Bannon Bembenek, Eddie & Ernie Forester, Erika Forester Bull, Cade King and Ansley & Addison Mann. Bill's great grandchildren included Stella Rose Phillips, and Javalynn & Colin Bull. It was indeed a whole lot of birthdays to remember, and ice cream cones to buy in the summer time but "Grandpa" never seemed to mind!
Bill was a hard working businessman who devoted 43 years to his career with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. He had a strong work ethic and became a wonderful provider for his family. Bill received numerous accolades and awards throughout his career before finally retiring as a Senior District Manager. Bill made the most of his retirement and was an impassioned golfer who devoted 3 to 4 days a week to the game. Bill successfully reached a towering goal of getting not just one but FIVE holes in one during his seventy-four years, a triumph very few achieve in their lifetime. However, it wasn't just his love for golf that kept Bill coming back week after week, it was the cherished time and shenanigans with his golf buddies. William Easterly knew how to be a true friend, enjoy life, and bring laughter to those around him.
It is for all these reasons that Bill's jokes will always be re-told,why the sight of a corvette zooming by on the highway will mean something more to us than to most, and why those who loved him and were loved by him will hold tight to the storybook of golden moments and special memories with which Bill has filled our hearts ...
