Dr. Anil Kamal Ballmick MD

It is with profound sadness that the Ballmick family announces the passing of their beloved son, brother, uncle, physician, and friend, Anil Kamal Ballmick, who passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2026, at the age of 30.

Born in Orlando, Florida, on January 31, 1996, Anil was the youngest child and only son of Mickey Tomay Ballmick and Chris Lalita Ballmick. A first-generation American whose family roots trace to Berbice, Guyana, Anil was deeply proud of his Guyanese heritage and cherished the opportunity to visit the homeland of his parents and family.

The youngest of four children, Anil grew up surrounded by his three older sisters, Asha, Anita, and Jaya. To Anil, his sisters were protectors, confidantes, teachers, and lifelong friends. They helped guide their little brother as he grew into a young man, and the bonds they shared remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Anil attended Seminole High School and the University of Central Florida before pursuing his dream of becoming a physician. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine, completing part of his medical education in Grand Cayman, an island and community he came to deeply love. Anil went on to begin his residency in Family Medicine at Advent Health in Sebring, Florida.

Medicine was more than a career choice for Anil. Caring for others was woven into the fabric of his family and his character. Inspired in part by his beloved grandmother, “Aggie”, and following a path in medicine also traveled by his sister Asha, Anil worked tirelessly for the privilege of wearing his white coat. He was a published medical researcher who loved problem-solving, but beneath his academic accomplishments was a simple motivation: he wanted to help people feel better. Becoming a physician represented years of perseverance and sacrifice, and few things meant more to Anil than making his parents and family proud.

But medicine was only one part of Anil’s story.

Anil loved life, and he loved people. He loved comedy and movies, music and dancing, podcasts, working out, traveling, spending time with family, and conversations that could stretch for hours. He idolized Shah Rukh Khan and Michael Jackson, was an enthusiastic Cristiano Ronaldo fan, and loved tennis—especially Rafael Nadal. Anil was also never shy about reminding his family of his own supposed status as a “professional” tennis player.

He had enjoyed fishing since childhood, first learning alongside his father and later sharing time on the water with family and friends. Like so many of Anil’s interests, it was another opportunity for him to spend time with the people he loved.

Anil was spontaneous, adventurous, playful, and fiercely loyal. He was the person willing to make the drive, take the trip, stay up all night, or simply pick up the phone because someone he loved needed him. He loved a beautiful destination—from the beaches of Grand Cayman to Lake Tahoe or the big, dreamy town of Hollywood—but some of his happiest moments were far simpler: being surrounded by family, laughing, talking, dancing, watching a movie, or simply spending time together.

Perhaps what those closest to Anil will miss most are the calls. He could keep someone company through an entire long drive, listen after a difficult day, make them laugh, let them complain, and inevitably make sure they listened to a few of his complaints in return. He sought connection constantly and gave that connection back freely. He had a sweetness and innocence about him, loved deeply, and was always ready to show up for the people he considered family.

One of Anil’s most cherished roles was being “Mamoo” to his nephews. He was playful, silly, loving, and always ready to make them laugh. His nephew Kyren Kamal Clarke carries Anil’s middle name, a lasting reminder that Anil’s name and place within his family will continue into the next generation.

Anil shared an especially close and loving bond with his maternal grandmother, Nairbekarri “Suggie” Ballmick. She was an important inspiration in his journey toward becoming a physician, and her passing left an absence that Anil carried with him. Anil was preceded in death by his beloved Aggie, and his family finds comfort in believing that grandmother and grandson are together once again.

Anil is survived by his loving parents, Chris Lalita Ballmick and Mickey Ballmick; his sisters, Asha Ballmick, Anita Mazy, and Jaya Ballmick; his brothers, Jiri Kubac, Danny Mazy and Chris Clarke; his beloved nephews, Kyren Kamal Clarke a.k.a “Chunny”, Jiri “JJ” Kubac Jr., and Macallan “Mickey” Mazy; his grandparents, Nanni and Nana; his best friend, Connor Hair; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were made fuller by knowing him.

Thirty years was far too short for a life filled with so much energy, love, accomplishment, and promise. Anil was a son who wanted nothing more than to make his parents proud, a little brother who remained forever intertwined with his sisters, a loving Mamoo, a physician driven to care for others, and the kind of friend who simply showed up.

His family will remember the little boy they watched grow up, the young man proudly putting on his white coat, the brother calling because he wanted to talk, the uncle making his nephews laugh, and the unmistakable laughter and energy he brought into a room.

His phone calls will be missed. His laughter will be missed. His place at family gatherings will be missed. His stories will continue to be told, his photographs will remain part of birthdays and holidays, and his name will continue forward through the family he loved.

Anil was deeply loved in life, and he will be deeply missed.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771.

A family ceremony will follow on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
