Annette Louise Mann, 71, of Longwood, Florida, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on November 9, 2025 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Annette will be remembered for her laughter, her indomitable spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Born on February 6, 1954, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Annette was the youngest of five siblings—the “baby” of a close-knit family. A total tomboy growing up, she was happiest with a fishing pole in her hand or out on the lake waterskiing with family and friends.
In 1983, Annette moved to Florida to be closer to her eldest sister. What was supposed to be a short-term job turned into a lifelong career at CE Brooks Management Company, where she spent 42 years as the Accounts Payable and Payroll Manager.
Annette loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends. She was always ready with a quick smile and a joke, and she never failed to greet loved ones with her trademark, “How’s your mom and them?” A sentimental soul, she could be moved to tears by a heartfelt TV moment, a good movie, or even a sappy commercial. She loved classic movies and her “shows,” especially The Amazing Race and Big Brother. And if you ever rode in the car with her, you could be sure the station would be tuned to the 50’s and 60’s oldies channel.
When Annette was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2017, she met the challenge head-on. Determined to fight, she literally took up boxing through Rock Steady Boxing and could often be found “on the bag” in the garage, punching for all she was worth. Whether boxing, biking, doing Pilates, or stretching, she stayed active whenever she could—an inspiration of grit and determination.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Karen Teutsch, and her infant brother John Hampton Mann. She is survived by her sister, Cynthia M. Brooks of Longwood, Florida; her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Dianne Mann of Lakeland, Florida; her brother-in-law, Russell Teutsch of Bossier City, Louisiana; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
A reception will follow the graveside service at the family home.
