Betty A. Garrett

Betty A. Garrett, 86, of DeBary, Florida, passed away peacefully, in her sleep, on July 10 2020, with her family by her side. The family will gather for a private graveside service at 2:30PM on January 14, 2020 at Baldwin Fairchild Cemetery in Sanford, Florida.

Betty was born on April 6, 1934 in Cherokee, South Carolina. After graduating from Fairforest High School, she began her career working for Martin Marietta, and later supported her husband Lamar in the success of their businesses.

Betty was married to Lamar Garrett for 66 years, from October 10, 1953 until Lamar’s death on January 11, 2020. She is survived by her daughter Linda Garrett Pagan and her husband Jim, her son Dennis Garrett and his wife Karen, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Betty’s passion was her family; her primary desire was caring for them and ensuring their welfare. She also shared her husband’s zeal for telling others about Jesus Christ. There were many lives touched and influenced by the way Betty lived her life, and her service to others. She is loved by many.

Betty enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling, and home projects, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
