

She graduated from the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School for Respiratory Therapy Technicians.
She worked in the medical field as a medical receptionist and front office manager.
She was a beloved mother, sister, cousin, and friend. She loved time spent with family, friends, and their extended families — laughing until tears filled everyone’s eyes, and sharing stories that grew funnier with every retelling.
She lived a life defined by love, kindness, strength, and devotion to her family. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, cared for, and valued.
The beach was her happy place. With many fond memories of Sanibel Island shared with family and friends.
Carolyn was inquizitive, always interested in new scientific discoveries and all things outer space. She would marvel at the launches from Kennedy Space Center and often comment on the beauty of the moon in the night’s sky.
She loved her dogs and her birds. She had a natural green thumb - easily growing a beautiful variety of plants in her garden and her home, but she held a special place for orchids. She loved trying new recipes or baking classic dishes that she would share with visitors. She prized a significant collection of PEZ dispensers and unique salt & pepper shakers.
She treasured family dinners, celebrations, shopping trips, vacations, long phone calls, and the simple everyday conversations that became unforgettable.
Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She was an avid decorator at heart and loved to feng shui any space. She would turn any room into a celebration of the coming holiday or season. Her home was adorned with photos of friends and family from across a lifetime of memories. Through the end of her life she continued to make new memories and engage with those closest to her as often as time would allow.
She also had a well-known love for shopping and would often say “I need to go smell the mall.”
She found joy in simple moments spent with the people she loved most. Her smile, sense of humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She is preceded in death by her mom, Tina Gesumaria Rodgers and step-father, Douglas Rodgers.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Kendra, her step-sisters, Audrey and Bonnie, and a wonderful group of lifelong friends - who were like family.
The family would like to thank the teams at Visiting Angels of Sanford and Advent Health Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.
She loved all animals, especially dogs. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in their honor to your local humane society or animal shelter.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are grateful for the gift of her life and the memories that will remain with us always.
