Constantino Joseph Ferriola, Jr., otherwise known as “Deacon Connie,” leapt into the arms of his Savior at 11:08 pm on November 8, 2025 while surrounded by his adoring family. Connie earned his degrees in Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Although Connie held many secular positions, his heart was the most full while serving in his permanent diaconate and chaplain positions. Connie served as a deacon for 45 years in churches in Delaware and Florida and also held the position as the head of the Permanent Diaconate in Washington, D. C. for five years.
Connie ministered to families at Arnold Palmer and Winnie Palmer Hospitals for many years and was known as a gentle, comforting presence to all who were blessed to know him. To many others, this type of service would have been too painful but Connie was known to refer to his work as “having the best job in the world.”
Connie’s legacy includes a loving family that all started with a blind date set up by two scheming sisters. Connie and his loving wife Patricia have been married for 61 years and raised four children: Constantino III (Laura), Jan Marie, Patty (Robert), and Elaine (Joseph), who have grown his family by blessing him with 10 grandchildren (and their respective spouses) and three great grandchildren. They are left to mourn his passing and serve the world as their parents and grandparents taught them to do, making the world a better place for all. Connie also leaves his precious and protective older sister Antoinette as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and too many friends to count.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00am with a visitation starting at 10:00am at Nativity Catholic Church, 3255 Ronald Reagan Blvd., Longwood, FL 32750.
Family requests all in attendance wear bright colors as this is a day of joy and celebration of a life dedicated to service in the name of God’s love.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the study of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) or the American Cancer Society are deeply appreciated.
