Daniel Tyrone Tillis Jr (known to most as Danny or Junior) of Debary, FL passed away on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026, at the age of 49. He was born on May 23rd, 1977, in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from Pine Ridge High School in 1996 and worked as a Pest Control Operator and co-owner for the family business, Tillis Pest Control, for the majority of his adult life.
He was actively involved in bowling, golfing, and hunting, often together with his son. He also coached several seasons of youth baseball for his son’s teams and was an infamous Dance Dad that built props, drove U-Hauls to dance competitions, and would even proudly dance on stage with his daughters.
He is survived by his wife, Adrienne Lee Tillis, daughters Ariana Leigh Youngers and Emilia Rose Tillis, son Daniel Tyrone Tillis III, mother Donna Lynn Wagner, father Daniel Tyrone Tillis Sr, brother Shawn Douglas Tillis, and sisters April Janvrin and Tracy Rogers.
Danny was known as a guy who had never met a stranger. To meet him once, you were immediately his friend. And once you were his friend, he would always go above and beyond to help you at a moment’s notice. He loved to play practical jokes, and he was always the life of the party. He treated every child (many of which are adults now) as his own and was recently referred to by one of them as “The World’s Dad”.
The family would like to thank Advent Health and Halifax Health – Hospice Care Center for the care and compassion they showed Danny in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel at 5000 Co Rd 46A, Sanford, FL 32771 on October 11th, 2026, at 2pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 12pm.
Interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery at 5000 Co Rd 46A, Sanford, FL 32771 at 3pm.
After the interment, friends and family are welcome to gather at the Gateway Center for the Arts at 880 US-17, Debary, FL 32713 for refreshments from 4pm-6pm.
