David Andrew Bolen

He was born on June 1st, 1960, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Robert and Mary Ellen Bolen. He was fortunate to later be raised by his stepmother, Norma Bolen, whose love and guidance remained an important part of his life. He is survived by his sisters, Karen, Amy, and Kim and his brothers, Steven, Jamie, and Danny. He also leaves behind Patti, his loving wife of 34 years, his sons, Andrew, Alex, and Rob, and his cherished grandchildren, David, Victor, Flora, and Everett.

David dedicated nearly his entire professional career—33 years—to Orlando Health, where he worked in the Treasury area of the Finance Department. He served as a pillar throughout the numerous changes that the hospital experienced and remained a diligent worker and kind friend to all he knew. Though respected for his good nature, hard work, and integrity, those who knew him best will remember him most for being a loving, compassionate, and self-sacrificing husband and father.

David demonstrated his love through countless everyday acts of selflessness. Whether spending long nights walking the floors with a restless baby, sleeping beside a sick child so his family could rest, coaching and managing his children’s sports teams, or serving as a Boy Scout leader, he was always there when he was needed. David was his family’s rock. He didn’t simply say he loved them—he showed it every day through his unwavering strength, quiet dependability, and generous spirit.

When he wasn’t working or spending time with family, David enjoyed attending Willow Creek Church, traveling and exploring the wondrous landscapes of Colorado, listening to rock music, and immersing himself in countless war and history novels. Those who knew him appreciated his understated, dry sense of humor, a gift inherited from his father. His quiet strength and calm demeanor brought comfort to those around him, and his steady presence had a remarkable way of easing even the most stressful situations.

David’s legacy of faith, love, humility, and service lives on through the family and friends who were blessed to know him. While he will be deeply missed, his example will continue to inspire all whose lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, August 29th at 3:00PM, at Willow Creek Church in Winter Springs, Florida.
