David Michael Hall

Passed away on March 5, 2019

David was born May 8th, 1950 in Charleston, W.V. His family moved to Sanford when he was 5 years old. Having grown up in very modest surroundings, he wanted his family to have the very best. After joining the Army at the age of 17, he excelled in all of his training and planned a military career. During his 2nd tour of duty in Vietnam, his helicopter was shot down by hostile fire sending him to Walter Reed Hospital for 93 days and eventually home classified as 100% disabled. In 1973, he met and married Sharon Spivey, the love of his life. In 1979, they were blessed with their daughter Denise. Living with a disability gave him a special insight into how to help others. Throughout Denise’s school years he was always volunteering for field trips, mentoring other students, and working in the library. David joined the Citizens on Patrol (COP) program at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) in January of 2000. He was part of the Search and Rescue Team, Elder Services Team, and the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program. He also responded to many media inquiries as a member of the POI Team. Overall, David donated 32,506.5 hours to the SCSO. He is survived by his wife Sharon, his daughters Denise and Tammy, and son Michael. He was a loving, caring, and kind-hearted husband, father, and friend. His kind and jovial nature will be sorely missed.

Hannah and I will always have a special place in our hearts for Mr. Mike. Since the first day that we meet him, he shared his love and laughter with us! Hannah will always be his peanut and whenever she was fussy as a baby-it was always Mr. Mike that could make her smile and laugh. Heaven has gained an angel this week-we love you!

I recall how Dave was always ready, willing and able to do whatever needed to be done at and for the Seminole County Sheriff's Office. He always had a big smile and greeting for everyone he came in contact with. I also remember how he loved to decorate for Christmas. He was a good friend that I consider an honor and privilege to have known.

Dave was one of the kindest, sweetest, most generous people we have ever had the priviledge of knowing. We proudly worked side by side with Dave for 14 years and will miss him more than words can express. Sharon and Denise, our thoughts, prayers and love are with you. Dave was and will always be our brother and our dear friend.

With sincerest sympathy,
Holly and Andy Faries
