Firstly, my sincere condolences to Mr and Mrs McNeill and to the family members over your loss. I know Andy will be greatly missed!

A 20-Year Memoir
Andy was fresh out of college when he began work in Seminole County Human Resources.
He helped me do menial filing tasks. I soon learned how absolutely brilliant he was. Complex math was completed in his head. Andy was quick at math and quick witted.
He always lent a helping hand to anyone in need.
Andy upgraded his phone and was kind enough to let me have his old phone. I was so grateful to have my very first cell phone.
I needed a refresher in algebra to take my college entrance exams. Andy was a lifesaver!
As the years progressed, we shared many meals together at work: Benoits for breakfast, pot luck lunches or wonderful BBQ at a County picnic.
Andy promoted and ultimately became a top notch HR Generalist, often serving in place of the director during her absence. Our HR motto was to “do what’s right and what’s fair”. 
It was always funny when Andy told on himself for something naughty he may have done. 
Andy always made work fun, interesting and enjoyable. It was delightful coming to work knowing he’d be there to break the monotony. 
When I met my husband online (now 17 years married), Andy “background checked” him and told me go have fun. Andy always looked out for his co-workers.
Andy always joked that this person or that forgot to take their meds, which affected outcomes.
Things got sketchy towards the end of our 20 years as coworkers. Andy was bored and unhappy. Once the County Manager left, Andy told us prepare for the implosion. You were right on the money. Once you left though, it became an absolute boring mess. 
Soon after, I reached 30 years employment in 2014 and retired from Seminole County.
Forever grateful that I spent 20 years of my work life with Andy. It was a great time and he was an absolutely wonderful colleague - the glue that helped hold HR together. RIP my dear friend Andy!

Thank you for being my bodyguard with Fernando when we lived all in the condos. I knew you had my back and I was told by my friends that would come to visit when I wasn’t home. I miss saying good night to you as you said good morning as you were such an early bird. Eric and I will remember all the great times we had with you. Rest in peace..

I am a former colleague from Seminole county and Andy’s humor and kindness was something I will always remember.  His family and friends are in my prayers.

Dear Dave and Edith:  We just read about  Andy's death in the Sanford paper, and wanted to send our Condolences.  I do remember you telling me about his illness several years ago, and we are so very sorry he and you have had to go through so many struggles for so long.  

I do remember the many happy years our families spent at Bayhead and watched the kids grow up!

Our hearts are heavy and you’re in our prayers. I will always remember playing as a kid with my cousin Andy in the Orange Grove in Sanford. We played hide and seek all the time and it was a ton of fun. We climbed trees and just had fun being kids.

Andy, we know you are in a much better place now! Looking forward to joining you in that much better place one of these days.  Love you!

I had the pleasure of working with Andy and seeing first hand his amazing couponing skills. Words cannot truly express what a absolutely, amazing, caring , sarcastic in the best way and fair person he was. The word has lost a wonderful person. My condolences to his loved ones.

There are so many memories of my childhood that have Andy in them. When I think of him, I see his infectious smile and hear his contagious laugh. He was always quick with a comeback, which you had to have to survive the dinner conversations in our house. He was a fantastic tennis player and could  win with a sizzling return, or a gentle, spinning drop ball. Andy was so smart, and it came easy to him. I remember how tan he would get in the summertime, some folks thought he and I were related because of it. I remember him being a frequent fixture at our home. He and my mom shared a special bond. Andy could always make her laugh. He was one of a kind.

When you lose someone you love, the world doesn’t just change, you do. What I’ve learned is that grief shows up in waves. Some days it’s soft; some days it knocks the wind out of you. Both are normal.

And I’ve realized that talking about the person doesn’t make the pain worse, it keeps their memory alive. Every story you tell and detail you remember is a way of letting their life continue to matter in the world. Grief is love with nowhere to go, so you all need to make sure you work him into memories and conversations. Hold onto the memories that make you smile and the ones that make you cry. Every memory you have is a way of honoring the love you have for him and to continue to feel his presence in your lives. Sending you much love, many hugs, and more prayers. We are here if you need us.

Andy and I worked together at Seminole County Human Resources.  We had so many laughs. He was a great friend.  Remember when Andy went on the Sterling Casino ship with Bob and I.  Then we stopped at Grills and he had all the crab legs he could eat.  we all didn’t win on the gambling ship but we had a great time that  day. Our love thoughts and prayers are with Andy’s family.

Andy was my best friend growing up with my family.  I have so many fond memories of him and the dinners he shared with me after all our children went away to college.  He helped me adjust to my empty nest.  He will always be remembered as a very special person.
