He was loved by his wife of 34 years, Irene Dolgner. Mr. Dolgner was born at home in Cambria, Wisconsin, on May 31, 1941. He was the youngest of 4 brothers. After graduating high school, he proudly served 4 years in the United States Navy and upon receiving a honorable discharge he moved to Sanford, Florida, and later became the Administrator of the Seminole County Port Authority for 32 years. He oversaw, and was responsible for the construction and occupancy of a 450,000 square foot Industrial Park when he retired in 2006. Mr. Dolgner also served on the Board of Directors of True Health for 21 years, until retirement in December 2017.
Upon retirement Dennis loved creating beautiful stained glass hangings that he gifted to his family and friends. Dennis was a man of many talents, he enjoyed building things from wood including cedar chests, frames and furniture for his wife, daughters, and granddaughters, who he loved so much. Dennis had a passion for gardening and playing golf.
Dennis was preceded in death by his brother Robert "Chub" Dolgner. Mr. Dolgner is survived by his wife Irene, his daughters, Dawn Dolgner, Sherri Tabb and her husband Tim; his stepsons, Vernon "Ray" Caraway and his wife Traci; James "Jimmy" Caraway; his brothers, Donald Dolgner, and Raymond Dolgner; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Dennis will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Due to the State’s restrictions on gatherings because of the coronavirus, services honoring the life of Dennis Keith Dolgner will be for family and invited guests only. The family appreciates your condolences and understanding.
