Dorothy Marie Belisle (née Harrison), age 88, passed away on March 22, 2026. Born on October 30, 1937, in Pensacola, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Earl Harrison and Daisy Murray Harrison Sharon.
A woman of deep faith and tireless service, Dorothy was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Sanford, Florida. While she had many chapters in her life, she considered her most meaningful accomplishments to be the family she raised and the young lives she touched. Dorothy was a devoted advocate for youth, serving for many years as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, a dedicated school volunteer, and a youth worker within her church. Her heart for others extended into the wider world through her extensive community service and mission work.
Though she faced the profound heartbreak of being preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Marie Belisle Etchemendy and granddaughter Heather Larissa Kelsey, Dorothy remained a steady pillar of strength and grace for those she loved.
She is survived by her devoted children: Michael William Belisle (spouse Lynne), Crystal Lee Belisle Jacobus (spouse Bill), and Mark Edward Belisle (spouse Patti). Dorothy’s most cherished legacy lives on through her children, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Dorothy will be remembered as a woman who poured her life into others, leaving the world a better place through the generations she nurtured and the community she served.
