Dorothy Lee Davis was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Frederick Johnson and Bessie Bennett on January 22, 1938, and was one of six children born to them: four girls and two boys.
Married for 65 years to the true love of her life, Theodore (Sonnie) Davis, she traveled the world with her husband who was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years. Dorothy also lived in Japan, Turkey, Ohio, and Florida.
Dorothy and her husband were blessed to have four children between them; Lisa Davis, Stacy Davis, Constance "Connie" Davis, and Jacqueline Lockhart (deceased). They were also blessed with four grandchildren, Stephanie Lockhart, Keith Lockhart, Paris Davis, and Joshua Davis.
She has worked as a nurse at Saint Elizabeth Hospital, a bus monitor for Seminole County, and as a loving caregiver to her husband, Theodore (Sonnie).
Dorothy leaves to remember her loving husband: Theodore (Sonnie) Davis; best friend Ora Lee Alexander; a loving sister: Freddie Adams; three beautiful daughters: Lisa Davis, Stacy Davis, and Constance "Connie" Davis; four wonderful grandchildren: Stephanie Lockhart, Keith Lockhart, Paris Davis, and Joshua Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, FL 32771.
A Celebration Of Life will occur Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a reception immediately following from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
A committal service will occur Monday, January 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754.
