Edward Lee Scott, Sr., 71, of Oak Hill, Florida, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 in his residence. Edward was born on October 16, 1945 in Fort Payne, Alabama; the son of Grady and Flora Scott. Edward served in the United States Army. Edward married his wife Barbara in 1964, and she preceded him in death in 2004. He worked as an auto mechanic, and commercial fisherman. Edward was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing.
Edward is survived by his son Edward Jr. and wife Amy, of Sanford, daughter Judy Fields and husband Jeff of Ohio, grandchildren Corey and James Scott, his brother David Scott of Sanford, and his sister Helen Atkinson and husband Doug of Sanford. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery. His family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Halifax Hospice in Edward’s honor.
