Our dear wife, mother, and grandmother Elaine passed away peacefully in the care of hospice and the love of family on June 12th. Elaine was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 16, 1930. She was the first of four daughters born to Arthur E. Gail and Ruth Oswald Gail, of Saginaw MI. Elaine enjoyed learning and was talented in many things that she did. Over her long life, she was a driver-training instructor, she became a buyer and manager in retail, and later enjoyed being a realtor and working with her husband Ron in the insurance business they successfully developed. Other areas of interest during Elaine's lifetime were interior design, owning and operating a craft shop called "The Enchanted Cottage", and always being an amazing artist.
Elaine and her loving husband, Ronald McElmurry spent 57 wonderful years together. Most of those years were spent in Central Florida. They enjoyed traveling, going on long rides, and discovering new places. Elaine was a very caring, loving person that found good in everyone and never knew a stranger. Her favorite role in life was that of mother and grandmother. Elaine nurtured and loved all her family and spent many days of her life being a positive influence. One of her favorite sayings was, "You can be and do anything you want, JUST DO IT!"
Elaine is survived by her husband Ronald McElmurry, her daughter Gail Ann Falkingham (Jim), her son Scott Lincoln, her daughter Diane McConnell and her stepson Scott McElmurry (Glenda). She is also survived by her grandchildren James F alkingham, Cynthia McConnell, and Gavin McConnell. Elaine will be missed by her sisters, Marilyn Mossman, Leore Bethune (John), Sandra Kelso and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by her dear friend Eleanor Morin.
Elaine's Memorial service will be held at Central Baptist Church 3101 West State Road 46 Sanford, Florida on Saturday June 22, 2019 at 10 am.
