Emily, born in Sanford, attended local schools and graduated from Lake Mary High School before attending Florida State University. The only child of John Mero and Frances Bishop Mero, Emily was the mother of Grayson Mero, and grandmother of Grayson’s daughter, Penelope. Emily is predeceased by her parents and survived by her son and granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6 at Westview Baptist Church, 4100 H.E. Thomas Jr. Pkwy in Sanford. In lieu of flowers, Emily would be honored by a donation in her memory to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
