From ages 4 to 8 he be came an expert shot with a borrowed .22 rifle. Eoghan would often have to shoot moccasins in their family owned lake for safety purposes. He was a savvy fisherman and regularly augmented the meals with fish, or turtle and squirrel during lean times.
After graduating from high school at the age 16, from St. Leo's University in St. Leo's Florida, where his marksmanship was never matched, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He was located in Parris Island, SC and due to his shooting skills he was given the rank corporal +, and was made a rifle instructor. With his guidance, his all female class ended up qualifying as expert. Eoghan was in his element and loved the Marine Corps. He attributed the time he spent as a marine for having taught him the value of teamwork and the beauty of brotherhood for life.
After his service to our country he started college for architecture. But he was not one to suffer fools gladly, and had the distinction of being expelled three times. Eoghan thought his dream was lost, but fate stepped in and a certain senator stepped in and had him take the graduate record exam. He scored a 163, which is equivalent to a doctorate from Harvard University, and he was then allowed to sit in for the Architectural Exam. After passing that he was able to get his license. Eoghan dedicated his life to god, and designed schools in three states. He learned construction from people in the trades, learned real estate, and became a broker. He worked hard to know all aspects of the process and was very well respected in his career.
Along with Architecture, Eoghan was also an accomplished musician. He played the trombone, trumpet, and piano. He had a passion for jazz, classical music, and painting... but was shy about singing. He is survived by his wife Norma- a friend for 30+ years, 4 adult children by his first wife Jennifer, Christopher E. Kelley, Maureen Kelley Maguire, Kevin E. Kelley, Monica J Kelley, Seven Grandchildren: Darla Kelley, Paige Kelley, Gatlin Kelley, Megan Maguire, Shannon Maguire, Nathaniel Hanson, Shaughan Hanson
He was unbeatable in life: is unbeaten in death and his word is his bond.
