Florence York Wheeler
August 8, 1931 – October 17, 2019
Florence (Flo) Y. Wheeler, 88 years old, passed away on October 17th at Advent Hospice in Altamonte Springs.
She was a Central Florida resident from the summer of 1969 when she moved from Wisconsin. She was born in Syracuse, NY on August 8, 1931 but grew up in Washington, PA. She attended Bucknell University and graduated with a Degree in English. She also studied abroad at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France.
Flo was married to Philip Alan Wheeler Sr. in October, 1957 and remained together until his death in August 2009.
Flo started her teaching career in Camden, WI in 1967. She taught English, French and Spanish at Crooms 9th Grade School and finally at Lake Howell High School retiring in the summer of 1993.
She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority while at Bucknell and enjoyed returning for reunions as often as she could. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and going on cruises. She cruised in the Caribbean, Panama and Alaska.
She is survived by her children: Philip A .Wheeler Jr. (Greta) and Judy Duncan
GrandChildren : Terry Duncan (Helen) , Jana Schwieger (Logan), Beth Duncan (Connor Kelley), Hannah Anttila (Vilppu) , and Philip Duncan
Great Grandchildren: Kinsley Duncan, Hudson Duncan, Camden Duncan, Kendall Schwieger and Emilia Anttila
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Foundry Church at 3 pm on Sunday October 27, 2019 Foundry Church 1491 E State Rd 434, Winter Springs, Fl 32708
