Frank was more then a neighbor to Robin and I he was always a friend that you could count on. He had more knowledge to share you could not learn in books, The times we talked there seamed to be nothing he had not mastered. I Learned a lot from him. I miss the talks across the fence the most. The only thing we ever disagreed about was our political affiliations but even then we agreed to disagree. He is surely mist.

This is what I wrote the day after Frank passed. I cannot think of any better words to describe the impact Frank and Naomi had on our lives.

Today there is a hole in my heart. A very dear friend of ours passed last night at home, at 94, cared for by his daughters, the way he had hoped to go, but the hole is there and it will take a while for it to fill with memories from the over 40 years he and his wife were a part of our lives and our family. Seems fitting that he would pass on his own terms and in July no less, because every year when July came around I would hear Naomi's voice on the phone telling me she could not possibly put up one more tomato and she had so many beans she would not be able to face eating any for a good long while. So the kids and I would go transfer some of the bounty from Frank's garden into our freezer every year. Every single year Frank would follow us all over the garden, in his bare feet, sharing the same story about how to treat the soil of my own garden for nematodes and picking beans, beans, and yet more beans to send us home with. Daniel and Frank fished together for many many years until it was physicially not possible for him anymore ... gallons and gallons of shrimp, fish, crabs formed a large role in our diet during the days when my kids were babies and money was tight, tight, tight. Frank was an awesome friend and a brave, brave man. He was at Normandy and it was his job to rescue wounded and dead soldiers from the water and make sure they were safely accounted for. His memories shared of that experience will stay with me forever. I am really gonna miss him and so will Daniel and my kids.

Our Poppa was truly one of a kind.
We'll miss him, but know he was so ready to see our Momma. I imagine their glorious reunion, as well as the family reunion that's probably still going on!

Thank you all for your words of kindness and comfort.
