Harold Bingham, Sr., of Lake Mary, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on June 25, 1947, in Sanford, Florida, to Pearlie Mae Gardner Bingham and Elijah Bingham. Harold was lovingly raised by his parents, Clarence Lee and Pearlie Mae Ford.
Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army from September 1966 to September 1968. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty, honor, and commitment to his nation.
Following his service, Harold built a long and distinguished career with Chessie Seaboard, later known as CSX Transportation, where he worked faithfully from 1970 until his retirement in 2007. He was respected by his coworkers for his strong work ethic, dedication, and reliability.
Harold shared his life with his beloved wife, Dr. Mamie Bowman Bingham. He was a devoted father to Kimberly Bingham-Davis (Calvin) and Harold Bingham, Jr., and a loving uncle and father figure to his nephew, Jerome Bingham, Jr. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought him immeasurable joy and pride. Harold is also survived by his siblings, Jerome Bingham, Sr., (Endrea), Gail Ford McQueen, and Inez Ford, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and well-being.
Harold will be remembered as a man of integrity, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his work. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the example he set for future generations.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who have the privilege of knowing him. May his memory forever be a blessing.
