Jack Lanier was a great man ! I've known him and the family most of my life. He taught me simple things such as eating grits with bacon and fruit all mixed in together !!! I love boiled peanuts because of him. I learned to eat fried fish with bones. He let me demonstrate my first Kirby sales presentation to him. I worked for him with Doug and he taught me the lumber business and to be confident and bold.. So many things but mostly because he had a huge heart and the most caring Dad a family could ever ask for. One of my favorite memories of him was when my dad passed away, he spent time with us weeping together at our kitchen table ... That was Jack to a core . Not afraid to shed a tear and to be vulnerable.

Jack worked with us at Southern Realty in Longwood for many many years and we all loved working and socializing with him. He was a great Realtor and loved helping families find their dream home. He always had a positive attitude and and always made us laugh and enjoy being around him. I really wished I had gotten to spend time with him these last few years. We all here at Southern Realty pray for him and Mary Jo and his great family. Miss you all.

I met the Laniers when my family moved into Ravensbrook. I was only 9 at that time. We were 2 houses apart and had lots of outdoor activities to do during the summers. As kids we would attend each others church now and then. One time I recall was during a wedding I think. Allison got emotional and asked her dad for a tissue. When he handed her his watch we started giggling. I'm not sure what he was thinking, but us kids sure did get a kick out of it. Thank you Papa Jack for one of many fun memories. RIP💖
