

James ‘Shane’ Moore, affectionately known as “Smoore,” passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026 after a courageous two year battle with ALS. Never losing his amazing sense of humor, Shane spent his final days surrounded by the smiles and laughter of his friends and family.
Shane was born on May 18, 1975 in Jacksonville, Florida. During his 51 years, he lived a life that was defined by strength, determination, and love. He is proceeded in death by his daughter, Katelyn; his parents, Ray and Jan; and his brother, Dwayne. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Brandy; his sons, Dawson and Ty; and his brother, Gene.
A proud graduate of First Coast High School, Shane excelled in both football and track before continuing his education at the University of Central Florida, where he earned his degree and fulfilled a lifelong dream of playing football for the UCF Knights.
In his professional life, Shane took great pride in helping people create beautiful memorials. Whether he was working with individuals, families, schools, corporations or our Armed Forces, he always provided joy, comfort and compassion.
Beyond Shane’s accomplishments and well deserved accolades, he will be remembered most for the husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend that he was. His work ethic, spirit, tenacity, and unwavering love for his family will continue to inspire us all.
The love for our favorite Golden Knight will forever Charge On!
Per Shane’s request, there will be no funeral services. To honor Shane, his family will host a Celebration of Life at a future date.
