Jim became an electrician while serving in the United States Navy and mainly worked on submarines. He separated from active duty as a Chief Petty Officer. He continued his career as an electrician after leaving the Navy until his retirement from Tri-City Electrical Contractors in Altamonte Springs, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sanchez and his daughter, Samantha (Andrew Smith); grandchildren Andrew and Matthew Smith; and a large extended family including his sister, Louise Sanchez; step-daughters Brenda (John) Paschall; Sheri (Eric) Ebersbach and Sandi (Al) Fussell; and his step-grandchildren Chelsea Thompson, Brandon Paschall, Jack Fussell and Erin Fussell.
Jim was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. He and Peggy enjoyed the beach, bowling and were avid cruisers. Their favorite destinations were Cocoa Beach, Alaska, the Caribbean and the Northeastern US Seaboard.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home in Oviedo, FL on June 25, 2026 at 1:00PM. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00PM.
