James Byron Smith, 91, of Longwood, FL, passed away with his loving family by his side on Sunday, November 29, 2015. James was born March 26, 1924 to his loving parents Chester and Ava Smith of Pardeeville, WI. James was very proud of the time he spent in the United States Army and was a survivor of “the Battle of the Bulge.” He was also an accomplished business man and worked as Vice President of Production for the Briggs and Stratton Corporation. In his free time James was an avid golfer. James is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Smith, his daughter Janine (Smith) Pedersen, his brother Roland (R.C.) Chester Smith, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family has planned a Visitation for Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 1pm to 2pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 2pm. All services are under the supervision of Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771.
