James A. Wesley

James A. Wesley, “Jim”, son of Irwin and Eva Wesley passed peacefully and entered his eternal home in Heaven on April 12, 2016. He was born December 10, 1929 in Chicago, IL. He leaves behind his loving wife Wanda “Penny” Wesley of 44 years. Sons: Rick Wesley (Shayna & Madison), Edward Wesley and Daughters: Georgia McManus (Noel & Nathan); Karen Wesley Thomas (Josh); Rhonda McLaughlin (Meghan, Matt & Chelsea), Deceased daughter: Melody Oliveri, leaving (Lindsey, Lauren & Mitch), deceased son Jon Wesley (Katie), deceased granddaughter: Cortni Wesley. There are 9 great grandchildren. Jim played college basketball for 2 years with Duke University and was a 3 year Varsity Tennis Letterman with Rollins College where he graduated. He was a scratch golfer, loved deep sea fishing and enjoyed various activities on the ocean with family. He started in Florida with citrus, cattle, and security investment businesses. Later he started an investment company Wes Invest, Inc. in 1974. He managed the investment portfolio for a number of prominent families and businesses in the Central Florida area. His son Rick remembers him as a man of few words but an encyclopedia of knowledge. His memorial service will be held Monday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Oviedo, 263 King Street, Oviedo, FL 32765. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist of Oviedo, Vitas, or favorite charity.
