My dear family and friends. Our Mom passed away this weekend. She had a long battle with dementia/Alzheimer’s. It stole our beautiful mother bit by bit, but she never wavered in her love, kindness and sweet disposition. Forever an English teacher, proud mother, volunteer, community leader, historian, gardener and fun loving grandmother, she left an indelible mark on all of us. Her heart was full of music and as a girl, growing up in Swampscott, Mass, she sang in the Sunday choir. That started her on a lifetime journey of musicals, operas, and finally on to the stage in Carnegie Hall in NYC. Her voice will now resonate in the Heavenly Choir as we all know her faith has her with her Lord and Savior. She leaves behind her family, devoted daughter, Dawn (Chiary) Ball, son-in-law Steve Ball and our two children, Brett and Casey who she affectionately called “Her Boys.” She also leaves behind daughter, Aynn (Chiary) Barlotta, son-in-law Ken and their children Corki and Brian, who she dearly loved.

A service will be held at Markham Woods Presbyterian Church, 5210 Markham Woods Road, Lake Mary, Florida on November 3, 2019 at 2:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jean at the Atria Bible study nine years ago. I remember that Jean was always wearing a beautiful outfit, complete with matching accessories and a big smile!

Every week when I would knock on her door to remind her that class was about to begin, she would show me all the pictures of her beautiful grandchildren that she had displayed on her walls. Jean was so proud of her family!

With deepest sympathy,

Dear Dawn and Aynn,

My deepest condolences to you two. I have many fond memories of spending time in Dawn’s basement bedroom! One of my favorites was when we snuck out the basement window and I got stuck! We heard Mrs Chiary coming down the stairs and Dawn had to make up a story about my whereabouts!
Your mom was so loving and kind - and she expected and demanded the best out of all us!
I am sure she was so proud of the women/moms you two became.
Sending much love,

So thankful for all my wonderful visits with Jean. I loved bringing her communion and sitting with her as she was the perfect hostess and loved having company! She loved to remember her childhood and her wonderful family. I know she’s enjoying being with Jesus and remembering all that she’d forgotten! Love to Dawn and Steve and her family
