Jeannette “Meme” Dumais, age 99, of Mt. Plymouth, Florida, passed away October 10, 2019. She was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on December 16, 1919. In 1940, Meme married the love of her life, Roland, and in 1945 she had the first of two sons, Guy, while Roland was held prisoner in a German POW camp. Meme was widowed in 1972, lost her dear son, Marc in 1980, her precious grandson, Bryan in 1998, and her beloved son, Guy, earlier this year.
Meme never remarried, instead, dedicating her life to the Lord and her remaining family. She was the spiritual center of their universe, shining her light upon everyone she touched, and drawing them into the orbit of her love. The same love of Jesus that sustained her through her losses was reflected onto her family and everyone she touched. Meme had the purest of servant hearts and discovered this truth: that our joy is bound up in the joy of the ones we love. She spent the last decade of her life healthy and enjoying the fruits of a life well-lived, lovingly cared for by her granddaughter Kari, surrounded by her great-grandsons Connor and Chase, and grandson-in-law, Jason.
Meme is survived by her grandson Blake Dumais of South Riding, VA, grandson Dean Dumais of Tacoma, WA, granddaughter Danielle Richardville of Broomfield, CO, granddaughter Kari Dapore of Sanford, FL, and great-grandchildren Maeve, Connor, Chase, Cullen, Fiona, Rhys, and Lachlan.
