This is a different kind of memory, but I'm sharing this mainly for my cousins (Uncle Joe's kids) who may be too young to remember these visits.  Some of my happiest memories with Uncle Joe were when we (the older kids and the adults) played the Dictionary Game. It sounds like the most boring game, but it was actually hysterical and we laughed like crazy.  It's a very happy memory of Uncle Joe.

My heart is broken my dear brother. I will miss your daily calls and hearing your voice every day. The thought of you, Ralph and Jessica together brings me comfort. As we always ended our conversations, "I love you"

It has been a lot of years for I knew Joe from the Sun Sentinel.  My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

A good man and a true leader, who was compassionate and caring. Joe was a friend always willing to share his knowledge and experience. He touched everyone around him in a very special way. He was very funny with his amazing NJ style. I remember how much Joe enjoyed his yellow Jeep Wrangler and how he loved driving it to the beach. Joe did it his way, and he always gave moe than he received. God bless you Joe...I will miss you.

Joe, his parents,  his siblings, Ralph, Kathy, Lorraine,  his cousins, Bevie and Bernice, and Aunt Mary were a very important part of my young life.  Joe and I did not end up together but developed a mutual friendship and respect. We spoke more frequently in the past few years when our mothers and brothers passed away. Also very recently when my husband of 54 years passed away.  Joe talked me through some dark times. I will miss his friendship and support. God bless all of his family. My heart aches for your loss.

I will miss your smile, I will miss your silly sayings but most of all, I will miss hearing you say "I love you more". I love you dad. I am so happy you are resting in the arms of Jesus, in a fully healed body.

It is with a heavy heart I share thoughts of my dear friend Joe. I was fortunate enough to have Joe as my boss at the Orlando Sentinel  The best boss I ever had.  Not only was he my boss we became very close friends.                          I have so many treasured memories of Joe, our trips to the beach in his beloved Jeep, Our photo sessions taking pictures of wildflowers along the roads, long readings of the book he was so proud to publish of his thoughts and dreams,   conversations mostly about his truest joy , his children and grandchildren. I felt like I knew you all from the many stories he shared with me. I hope you know you made your father and grandfather proud. He  loved you all so much.
