Joseph (known as Joe) S. Locklin, 53 (Mar. 3, 1967-Nov. 27, 2020), of Winter Park, FL, lost his life due to a car accident. He was born in Sidney, OH, raised in Geneva, FL, and attended Oviedo High School. He is survived by his mother, Julie A. (Launer) Locklin and father, Charles R. Locklin. He is also survived by his 7 siblings: Richard (Sharon) Locklin, Christine (Glenn) Gibbs, John (Christie) Locklin, Greg (Melissa) Locklin, Charlene (Eric) Amos, Troy (Brandy) Locklin, and Becky (Lenny) Gallion, and by his two daughters: April Locklin and Crystal Locklin, four grandchildren, along with his life partner, Kimberly Forsythe and son, Devon Forsythe.
Joe had a certification in Geomatics from the University of Florida. He worked in the surveying and mapping field all his life and had a successful career, finishing his profession at Hamilton Engineering & Surveying, Orlando, FL, as a Senior AutoCAD Technician, CST Level IV, and Project Manager. Joe was a hard worker and life of the party, with a boisterous personality and a smile that lit up the room. He loved his friends and family, was kind and would help anyone in need.
Joe Locklin’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Dec. 4th, 10 a.m., at the Foundry Church, 1491 SR 434 East, Winter Springs, FL, for friends and family. Face masks will be required for the service. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date at Oaklawn Park Cemetery, Sanford, FL.
