July 4 celebrations were always fun with Gigi and PopPop

Joyce LOVED walking around with Santa at Village On The Green. We had such fun eating with them and meeting all of their sweet friends.

When we lived in Indiana we would FaceTime with Gigi and Pop often!

Anyone who knew Dave & Joyce Sims knew what marvelous wonderful people they were. I feel privileged that they were a big part of my life since sixth grade and like a second family to me. They were a true example of wonderful Christian, kind, loving people both of them. And even at their death, they kept that whole example of death to us part and ended in a beautiful love story that gave their family a beautiful remembrance of a life well lived. I know they'll be missed, but I'm grateful that they're out of pain up with God protecting all the people they love.

Davie (Mr. Sims to me) was instrumental in helping me get established (even though I was a Seminole) in the area as a supplier for Sims Office Supply, when I moved to Altamonte Springs in 1978. Sims Office Supply became my largest customer, and we remained good friends over the past48 years!  My thoughts are with all the Sims at this time.

There are no two finer people.  They loved and prayed over their family.  Their greatest wish was for all of their family to know Jesus Christ.  Love you Dave and Joyce.  I will be looking for you both when I get to heaven

Joyce and Davie will be sorely missed in our VOTG family. They were caring and funny and smart and fun.  And they were fellow GATORS. How  lucky they were to have each other for so long and to go together.  That must be very hard on the family to lose them both but what wonderful memories you all must have.

Our two people that I really loved they were kind, loving, always giving out love when someone needed not feeling bad or was sick. They were the very best. I know they are too beautiful angels in heaven with God in Jesus I miss them so much to their family, grandkids and friends. I send them so much love they were the very best.

This is how I'll always remember you <3 out on the dance floor, unstoppable.

On my wedding day, I wore the diamond that my greatgrandma Aiti had as her engagement ring. It is my most treasured possession. Joycie gave it to me when I was 13. Her fierce, faithful, and godly life was passed down to me through Joyce, to my dad, and I will share it with my daughter Lily Grace and whoever else God brings to our family.

I wrote Joycie a letter and read it to her before my wedding. I thanked her for the legacy she has given me and told her I want to continue it in my family.

Such an honor to have all the Sims ladies there for our big day!

It was an honor to have Joyce and Pop attend our wedding. They made the long trip to Tennessee in March 2022—one of their last out of state trips together!
