I am an architect who was working with Kim on improvements to the exterior of the Van Gundy home. Although we had just met Kim's radiant spirit, her obvious love of life and welcoming demeanor immediately made me feel at home. Kim was an absolute delight to work with.

It's not that often that you meet an individual like Kim, who is so at ease, so comfortable in her own skin and thoroughly content with her condition in life.

As I scrolled through the images on this site I was struck by the importance of family in her life. The images of Kim and Stan together paint the portrait of a man and woman thoroughly in love and dedicated to each other.   Kim did more than her share to make the world a better place. I feel so grateful for having made her acquaintance and have little doubt that her legacy will live long and we are all richer for having her a part of our lives.

Stan, I am so sorry, my heart is broken for you and the "kids". Even though it was way back at MCC Kim and I first became friends and new mom's together, she was one of a kind and as the years went by I always felt lucky to call Kim a friend.

Kim was one of the kindest people I have ever met. Always thinking of and taking care of everyone and everything around her. It was because of her that my parents and I were able to share the experience of the Women’s March on Washington with her in 2017. We had the pleasure of helping Kim with settling a rescue dog into her home when she was having some difficulties. Kim was the first to  give financial help in efforts to help support aspiring young athletes from a very challenging background and really helped make a difference in their lives.  Kim was a truly lovely soul and we are shocked to hear of her passing in such tragic circumstances. Our thoughts are with Stan and the children, We know that there are no words that can ease their suffering but hope and pray they are given the strength to endure the pain of their loss and that time will slowly help them heal. Kim’s passing is a great loss to the world and we pray she is now at peace.

So many great memories!  Eating mac n cheese at her apartment in Castleton, staying at your home and being scared gators would get me if I fell in the lake when we went paddle boarding, bumping into Kim when walking to the craft show in Mt Dora, hearing her yell my name and laugh on Friday nights at Castleton, her overwhelming generosity, going on the sleigh ride in Vermont with all the kids, just hanging out in Vermont or Florida...My life is so much richer for having Kim in my life!  I'm hugging all of you.

We remember Kim so fondly in our times in the family room in Detroit. She was always so kind to us. She was a terrific person. We have our bottle of Eastwood wine and will cherish it and Kim. We’re thinking of you and your children Stan.
