Larry Edward Goring

October 29, 1948September 14, 2022
Larry Edward Goring of Lake Mary, Florida left this earth for heaven’s glories on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, after a nine-month battle with cancer. Larry was welcomed into this world on October 29, 1948, in Minneapolis, Minnesota by his delighted parents Larry and Mildred and four adoring older sisters: Judy, Jill, Jacque and Joetta—joined twelve years later by his brother Lynn. Larry described his childhood as idyllic with sisters who never spoke an unkind word to him, a saintly, patient mom, and an incredibly hardworking, talented dad who taught him every imaginable life-skill. Larry was born again into God’s eternal family at a young age, and from his high school days he was committed to serving the Lord by taking the Good News to people who had never had a chance to hear that God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only son [Jesus]—so that whoever believes in him won’t perish—be judged—be separated from Him forever—but instead will have everlasting life! He found the same heart and passion in Jill Bartlett; they married in 1971 and headed for the country of Indonesia in 1973. The greatest blessings of their lives ‘happened’ in Indonesia: the births of their beloved children Jaci [Jessica] Lyn in Palu, Sulawesi, and Micah Shan in Singkawang, West Kalimantan, and the birth of the Gerai Church in the middle of the jungles of Borneo several years later. Larry was preceded in death by his mother Mildred and his father Larry; his father-in-law Vern Bartlett; his brother-in-law Derek Hadley; his nephew-in-law Darren Friedl; his newborn nieces Beth Rene’ Hadley and Danelle Rae Jackson; and his niece-in-law Manuela Silveira. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jill; his children and their families: Jaci [Dan] Scheidemantle, Ella and Dylan; Micah [Katy] Goring, Gracy, Rocky and Donna; his sisters: Judy [John] Snyder; Jill Hadley; Jacque [Kenneth] Finney; Joetta [Jack] Jackson; his brother Lynn Goring; his mother-in-law Joyce Bartlett; sisters-in-law Jan [Ray] Friedl, Jayne [Jason] Robinson; brother-in-law Jerry Bartlett, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends who will miss him dearly. At 11:30 a.m.Tuesday, September 20th, the family will gather at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A in Sanford, Florida for a time of sharing memories before Larry’s earthly body is laid to rest at 1 p.m. at Oaklawn Park Cemetery. Resurrection and rapture dates as yet undetermined—but we expect soon, thank the Lord.
